Help

I have a 96 Maxum with 5.7 and Alpha 1 With 85 hours.
While on river after running fine and stopping on bank for a while, I put into gear and hit gas, I could not get up on plane, just vibration and felt like ( in a car the clutch was slipping) will move at idle and will work in rev. Were do I start?
Lower unit?
Motor coupler?

Please Help, Mike:confused:

Check the prop for a spun hub. Put a mark on the blade area of the prop hub. Then place another mark directly in line with the first, but on the inner part of the hub where the prop nut is. Run the boat until you experience the problem. Check the alignment of the marks. If they are no longer in line, you have a spun hub. The prop needs to be repaired or replaced.

very good advice from the admiral, it is very common to spin the hub on your prop when beaching, I would recommend that if you have to beach you boat, stop short of the beach, lift up the outdrive and walk it in, its a costly mistake what happened, but dont feel to bad, we all have done it:)
