VHF Interference from outboard

Hi all

I have a icom IC-M501EURO Fixed VHF, evertime the engine is running (60HP Mercury Outboard) i get interferance which makes the VHF un-useable, is there anyway i can sort this out?

Use spark plugs in your outboard that contain radio frequency suppressors. Many older outboards have very high voltage spark circuits and will generate strong radio frequency noise interference. The RF interference can be reduced if the spark plugs have RF suppression built into them.
