My family has proudly served for five generations, beginning in 1845, when Daniel Lawrence Braine was appointed Acting Midshipman by Sen. Sam Houston and continuing through my grandson, Daniel Lawrence Cornwell, USN.

Here is a pic of Daniel's aunt, CDR Alice Cooper, USN, at her retirement ceremony. That is her proud Dad, also a Navy Veteran, with her.

We had the privilege to attend a Veterans Memorial and Honor service in town yesterday. It's humbling to stand shoulder to shoulder with these guys who've been at the sharp end of the fight.

Thank you all for paying the price.
