Vessel View for 2004 Optimax 115?

Will vessel view work? Can’t find a terminating cap? Only 10 pin i have found only has 3 wires in it. Thank you.

You have a 2003 engine, so maybe/maybe not. 2003 was right around when SmartCraft started.
If you have a SmartCraft connector (it should be on the port side of the engine, down really low, below where the shift cable connects to the shift rail) it should work.

But do you really want to? This is a 20 year old OPTI. That's a lot of money after you buy everything.

Thank you. Not sure. Doing a little research. Bought from a friend whose husband passed. Boat was not ran a lot. He had his tournament boat and only used this one in a local reservoir with a HP limit - which i live on. Been garage kept and taken care of, but sat for 4 years. Did fuel rail rebuild, water pump rebuild. Thermostat and poppet value. New fluids everywhere. Keep getting random low sustained warning tones at times and always at low rpm’s and random one beeps at times always immediately after plaining out. No pressure gauges on the boat. Missing oil tank vent assembly and valve that I’ve ordered. It’s perfect for what i need, just trying to figure some things out. Appreciate the input. Pics below

I always urge opti owners to get a copy of the service manual p/n 8M0047659 and read it.
You should pay close attention to any warning horns. opti's are pretty touchy. It might be worth the money to find a Merc opti trained tech and have them check fuel and air pressures, they can hook up G3 and see the faults.
Have you replaced the air compressor air filter? The air injectors are $800 ea.

have been studying the manual and talking to a local tech. Was trying to to work through it replacing parts in routine maintenance. Next step will be taking it to the tech. Where is the air filter located? Been looking at the motor diagrams. See the air muffler. Thanks.

Not the muffler--well it wouldn't hurt to check it-- The air filter. It's part of the oil tank.

Thank you. Replacing the air filter today. If this doesn’t work then off to the tech. Back to the original question. Would i need anything other than the vessel view blue tooth to my phone to get basic diagnostics? And if it fits, would it connect here? See pic. Thank you again for your advice.

Yes that looks like a SmartCraft connector.
I'll answer your question with a question.
What are you looking for? You mention Vessel View --- that covers a lot of products.
You can get Bluetooth to your phone starting at $250 with Vessel View Mobil. I think, but I'm not %100 sure that's all you would need. Would be best to check with your local dealer.
And that won't interface with your fish finders or provide very much information.
But none of the Vessel View products will give diagnostics. All you get is some trouble codes.

The best diagnostic tool is Mercury G3, but you need to be a Mercury dealer to use it.
next best is Diacom @ $600 if you already own a laptop.
next is TechMate @ $550

I can't give you any advice on Vessel View Mobil as I've never used it. But I have used the Vessel View displays and they give you a lot of neat info depending what sensors the engine has installed, but not much in the way of diagnostics.

I was looking at the blue tooth for basic instrumentation information. Pressures, temperatures, etc.

Took the boat to technician. They hooked it to the computer and the tech said the codes were indicating a possible bad neutral safety switch, and random oil tank sensor that he could not replicate in the tub. Feel like it may be the tank level sticking when planing the boat out. No codes on anything else: oil, pressures, heat, etc. Putting in a new safety switch. Good call on the air filter as well. Badly needed.

If you're looking for Bluetooth to your phone, Vessel View Mobil should work. Ask whoever you buy it from if anything else is needed. Also ask what you will be able to monitor. You want to be able to see block temp, compressor head temp and cooling water pressure.

If the air filter looked bad (it's a yearly service) you should probably think about the fuel filter, in-line oil filter and the water strainer that feeds the compressor and fuel rail. Remember to bleed the oil injection pump after oil filter replacement.
