do em both iboats and marineengine.com have cdi's for your motor for 25 bux each i know its adding up but this is preventative maint what a nice day out on the water worth to ya? ya know?

i wouldnt replace the jets just take em out dip em and blow em out and put em back in the carb dip will make them look brand new as for the needle and seat though that id replace that as they can wear and you cant tell by visually inspecting em are the floats cork or plastic? if theyre cork replace those too

those kits i showed you have new EVERYTHING in em ... you can go wrong buying oem evinrude parts - except for the coils those id get from CDI

you know, you are absolutely correct. when you think of it, about the most I can spend is $200 bucks on all the parts I need and thats really nothing compared to the full cost of the boat and fun from just one or two times out on the water. Im just not thinking positive enough , or as confident as you that it will all fire up when I spend the money and put it all back together, so I got to get more of your positive attitude.

yeah it really sux when you load up the kids and the old lady, gas, beer and lunch up for the day and the damn thing tears up on you half an hour into the trip... been there dont that ... and i try not to go there again -bad on the male ego plus the old lady is the first to ***** about how much money you spent and wants to know why doesnt it run?

did you change the gear oil? if not do that too use 80w90 gear oil

roger that, and yes, bought the 80 90 merc premiun at walmart yesterday, for 10 bucks a quart. Book says it take 23 oz. so will be doing that now that the lu is reassembled. would you believe I live on a lake and also have a suzuki dt115 that is not working also. Hoping to get the johnson working and gain enough confidence and knowledge to put the johnson in the lake working, take the suzuki out and get it running too. I actually am having fun working on them, since I have more time, but dont enjoy it when I run into problems like the shift shaft , so it is nice to have some support from more experienced boaters like you. thanks again.

yeah man your welcome, youll get the hang of it .... two or three motors in and your friends will be calling you to come fix thiers
two strokes are fairly easy to work on and simple (they have to be)
i dont know about that suzi though ... those jap motor parts are sky high -ive got a 60 tohatsu thats about to get sold the next thing i find wrong with it... thats why i bought my 50 evinrude -for backup
