Marine corps.M-4-11. 1St.Mar Div. That stands for Mike battery 11 marine regiment first Marine division. Was stationed at Camp Pendleton Ca.When I got out. I believe that is the div. that is doing a good part of the work in Iraq.

Re: Verterans

6 years Army Reservist. Was still in High School when I went to Basic Training at Ft Dix, split training option meant I reported for Advanced Training at Ft Rucker after my senior year. Very interesting 6 years. I enlisted at 17 and ets at 23, was not the same person; goals, attitudes and perspective had changed alot but it was a good experience.

Re: Verterans

This must be a record here, someone asked for veterans and only 2 non-vets replied, along with a bunch of vets. I'm impressed.<br />I've been out since '71 and I still can recite my serial #. Is that odd, or what. ;)

F982036<br />That is one number I just can't get out of my head.<br />Amazing when you think of it.....you can forget your last phone number, you can forget every number you have ever had to use, but your Regimental Number....it just won't go away.<br />Even at 80, father could recite his without a blink....it was a bit of a joke between us, one trying to catch the other out.<br />Cheers<br />Phillip
