Re: Venting

Tis' the season

I've vowed to myself it's not worth dealing with the idiots of the world, so I just ignore them, do my thing and get the #ell out of there......

I arrive at the launch ramp 10PM Saturday and see a couple with their dog, coolers on the dock, dog swimming around the launch, dude fishing in the water, dog snapping at fish caught, fishing rods and tackle box further down dock, dog running off into the darkness, people constantly yelling and screaming at dog, big friggin boxer. OH GREAT! I'm almost done prepping my boat to launch and another couple pull up and guess what they have,,, another big dog (rottweiler), coolers, fishing rods,,, heading down to the dock. I pull up to launch and,,, wait,,, wait,,, and they finally realize some of their gear is blocking the ramp. I could have pointed out the 2 signs on the dock and ramp that clearly say No Fishing and No Swimming, but it's not worth the grief...

Coming in I tie up to the dock and there is a pair of kids (3-4 YO) running around the dock, no life jackets of course, and the 3 adults oblivious to what they are doing. Eh, they are not my kids, isn't worth my time and grief to ask why the kids are not wearing life jackets. I get the truck, load, pull into the parking lot, stow my gear, clean the fish, hit the restroom and as I'm walking back to the truck to leave I see them pulling off the launch ramp and leaving. Grumble, grumble, grumble to myself...

Re: Venting

This past weekend at our private club, a buddy and I arrived to pull our boat in for the day. Both ramps were being used one by a guy launching by himself (no problem giving him extra patience) the other by a couple lauching. The couple backed up to the ramp and then proceeded to begin to pull the cover off the boat, do all the normal checks and then put up the bimini top. The guy and the girl both get into the truck, back the boat down the ramp, guy gets out unloads the boat and ties it off. He then gets back in the truck and pulls it up the ramp. Meanwile the guy launching by himself has been long gone (and apologizes for taking so long), our trailer is in the water and boat is loaded before the couple even thinks about pulling out of the dock. And of course all in the 100+ degree heat.

Re: Venting

kinda had the same thing happen to me a couple weeks ago,
came in to trailer the boat and someone had a jetski tied to the dock right beside the boat ramp.
come to find out the owners were sitting up in the parking lot drinking beer. I just backed my trailer down on the same side,
well before long they were yelling "watch out for my ski" I replied this isn't a beach. After loading my boat and some more grumbling by these two fellas, I was on my way. I still don;t know why they thought it was ok to tie their ski up at the boat ramp, with no intentions of getting it out of the water????
