Didn't even try to put the Starchief in the water. The Umpqua was brown (with tree size debris hoofing it down river) due to substantial rain. Struck out crabbing from the docks. Since the river puked the bay with dirty water the little pinchers apparently sidled their butts back out to saltier environs.
Not familiar with the lakes in the area yet but might be a good future option.
Anyway thought I'd share a couple snapshots. The lighthouse is awesome at night especially with some fog about. It has a Fresnel lens which is quite spectacular.

Watched the Coast Guard play at the Bar.
The triangle area is where oysters are farmed via suspension on ropes. Check out http://www.umpquaoysters.com/ Treated my companions to some too.
Definitely ain't Florida, Kev or Mexico, Barato but the conditions didn't stop us from having a great week.
