Hi all!
Ive had an ongoing problem here.
2004 Merc 115 hp 4stroke
Runs fine then after it is shut down after a long run or long idle it will not start in neutral.
At first I thought neutral safety switch but it will try to start a couple of revolutions with the shifter in the center position then quit turning over after two cranks.
If I put shifter out of gear and move the throttle to give it more gas it will start and idle but when I move the shifter back to center to place it in gear it dies. Wait a 30 to 60 minutes it will start.
Ive been told it could be vapor lock but, 1) can fuel injected engines vapor lock?? 2) if it is vaporlock why wont the engine crank over in neutral?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
