Re: vacuum switch

John,
Just as I thought on the tool.My hands are scarred also.If "push comes to shove" I could eleminate the Amphenol and hard wire the connections(don't plan to replace the pump again).
I will run premix AND VRO. Will monitor oil level in tank.Let you know results on Monday.

I read, observe, listen and then pee on the fence.

Newell

Re: vacuum switch

And for those who are still wondering what that vaccum switch is for, and what engines it pertains to......

You'll find it on the V/6 -V/8 engines on the high port side of the engine just to the rear of the electric starter on many engines. On others, it is in various locations. Its purpose is to sound an alarm when a fuel restriction is encountered. The alarm is the same as the overheating alarm, a constant steady beep.

Re: vacuum switch

John,
The new pump went in OK. Managed to cut the Amphenol connector and remove pins.Cleared an air lock in the fuel line and she runs great!
Pushes my 16' Larson about 30mph, too fast for me.
No alarms but will run 2 tanks of premix first.Have marked the oil tank.Need to do some minor adjustments to idle speed.
I'm happy.
Thanks for your help,

Newell
