I have a Regal 35 Sport Coupe and my port engine stopped running and now will not start. Can anyone provide insight into this fault or direct me where to find the code description for this particular fault? MID 128, SID 5, FMI 14. Thanks in advance

Hard to say without knowing the engine serial number and because this is coming up as an MID 128 code, it is probably being displayed by the EVC system. So need to know what EVC system it's using.
The EVC generated display won't show all codes, so it's always best to connect a scan tool to the engine.

Best guess is it's a problem with the throlle position sensors 1 and 2 having simultaneous voltages out-of-range. This is about the only code that will cause engine shutdown.

Might be time to have a trained dealer tech look at it?

Thanks for the reply. I have an appointment 3 weeks out. All service centers are very busy.

I feel your pain. It was once my job to have to tell people that, not fun.
But, as I also told them. If you find that one place that can get you in tomorrow. Might want to stop and think, what is it that everyone else knows about this dealer that they aren’t as busy as everyone else?

If you bought this from a Volvo dealer, I would give them a call. I know the dealers that I used to work for would move heaven and earth to take care of customer that bought something like a 35 coupe from us in less than 3 weeks.

The Volvo Penta factory diagnostic workshop manual says that code for the V8-300 is "throttle control position (TCP) simultaneous voltages out of range" or very slightly possibly coolant temp out of range.

Typically any issue caused by faulty TPs sensors on anything with a TAC module will not cause a no-start. It will cause a derate though.
