Usually better to charge / maintain two batteries with 2 chargers. I use maintainers/chargers that I got from wallyworld (Schumacher Automotive SpeedCharge Battery Maintainer) that work fine. I have the pigtail connected to the battery and the battery disconnected from everything else.

I like the automatic ones that turn off and when they are on only supply 1.5 amps

There is no issue with charging/maintaining through the DC Accessory Port (Cigarette lighter).

If you have an ACR or the battery switch set to BOTH, It is the same as if you were running the engine and the alternator was charging both batteries in parallel.

The chemistry/physics of the batteries control the amount of charge each one will absorb. Not the charger.
The batteries do not need to be identical or even anywhere near the same for each of them to be properly maintained.

The smart maintainers are extremely gently on batteries.
