Using boat with a bad trim

I have a 2019 Blackfin 212CC with the 225 merc. The trim started acting up last week with slowly going down. I put it up and locked it for the past week. I have someone coming to take a look in a few weeks but with it being the long weekend I really want to get out. I am considering going out if I would not be likely to cause more damage.

When on the trailer it goes down maybe 5 inches at the prop every 5 minutes. Issue started I think last time on the water and I had no issues with control or such.

I have a feeling I am grabbing at straws for a hope of making a good weekend.

Is this a bad idea or would I be good for a few hours on the water?

Did a measure of the drop and my guess was wrong, way slower than I said before. At the prop was too hard to gauge so did at the trim rods and they close at about 2 inches an hour

Thank you I will go check it after dinner tonight. If it were tight and not a problem would I still be safe to use the boat with the trim having a slow leak?

Probably be okay as long as the trim works electrically. Just keep an eye on it

Have you seen any oil leaking externally? Oil slick on the water?

No oil anywhere inside or outside the boat around trim. I checked it all over and even cleaned it fresh then ran it a few times and left it twice.

I see no reason not to use it as long as it isnt leaking oil into the water. You just have to remember to keep trimming up when up are in shallow water.

I ran my grandfathers boat (1966) like this for many years. It had mercs I drive (EZ tilt...) original power tilt (not trim) system with a single hose going to each cylinder. Boat was about 30 years old, parts were NLA, were just happy it still would go up. when you were coming into dock just had to keep hitting up...

Ended up using it and went amazing. Weirdly enough I have no issues with the trim now. Works perfect. I am guessing air in the lines somehow
