Hi, looking to purchase a used boat lift and it has dual SMC Stainless Motors YCN5644X. Trying to determine the age of the motors. The Lable have the following, but I'm not sure how to interpret the field format; "DATE 1003". Is that MM/YY or some other date format? Anyone know? Thanks!

The motors are the cheapest part of a boat lift and the easiest to replace. Focus on the remainder.

How new are the cables? Have the gear boxes been serviced?

How are the uppers? How are the lowers? How are the sheaves?

Also, age of the motors is completely irrelevant. No hour meter on them. Salt water/corrosion? Only parts to wear are the bearings, and no way to tell the condition of the windings I don't think.

1003 is October 2003

Agree with others..........electric motors don't have a life expectancy.
Focus on the rest of the hardware

If you purchase it......... have the motor bearings checked and a bit of wd40 to kill any corrosion also check the wires for corrosion
