You found a nice boat. There is something to make everyone happy. Keep your fuel mileage in perspective. What is more important is the smiles per mile not MPG.

The 10 GPH is only when it's moving, CBerry - if you're tubing, etc, you're probably spending a lot of time just floating too.



You can see from these pics how a couple of MPH makes a difference from 3.4 to 3.6 MPG (about 5%). Left digital number is instantaneous mileage.

Wow, 45auto. That carbon fiber dash makes me miss my Ducati Monster. Not meant to change the topic here...

Tnduc, the carbon fiber dash definitely makes the boat "look" fast if nothing else!!

Hi,
I know this is an old tread but with a 6500lbs 24'ft cruiser -
1) At optimal speed the consumption is approximately 10GPH.
2) If we were not in a rush and went slow (i.e.) go at 8-10kph what would be the fuel consumption?

The distances we are trying to cover with the boat are not great hence we are in no rush, but in Europe prices are about $5.50 a gallon.

Go here for some potentially relevant data. As long as you are not making a big wake, fuel economy is typically best below planing speeds as is this one.
