Re: UPS Mishap - What can't brown do for you?

I wasn't blaming or holding iBoats responsible, the blame and responsibility was on UPS. I have had some bad experiences with them so I wasn't surprised that this package could have been missing.

I was just hoping iBoats would have sided with me. If all else would have failed I would have filed with my credit card.

Uuumm, no, clearly the blame, if there HAS TO BE blame, is on you and your son. This is why the Mods on here keep a very short leash on "Bashing" threads. We only got one side of the story, yours, and as it turns out, it was your mistake, not UPS's. They delivered the package, in the prescribed amount of time, to the correct address.
(If you read my first response, you'll understand why the delivery time was the way it is. Obviously the guys in your area don't change the package to "delivered" at the beginning of the day, they do it at the end of the day.)

My UPS guys always scan the package at my door. And when I'm tracking (just about all of them) the "out for delivery" changes to "delivered" within minutes after he/she puts it in my hand.

GA, apparently there is no "standard" among UPS delivery personnel, then. It appears this one changed his at the end of his shift, while your guy does it onsite, and our local guys do it befroe they've even delivered the package. Your local guy and this guy's way are far better than my local's way! At least your/OP's packages are actually delivered before the status changes!

Here, they scan it as they hand it to me.

The blame was put on UPS prior to finding out all the details. I had every right to blame UPS. There track record with me if far from perfect and obviously other people have had issues as well. I don't know what protocol is as far as scanning packages, as stated before I have always experienced the driver scanning packages right before the package was dropped. This method makes the most sense to me, at least that's how I would do it.

The only that I can agree upon is that the delivery scan was wrong. But for you to pre-emptively get on here and accuse them without all the info (by your own admission) is far worse than them delivering the package, but putting down the wrong time.

Re: UPS Mishap - What can't brown do for you?

can't blame the op to much, I have had ups leave packages on the wrong door step before...

One time I even looked around my neighbors and found my package 4 houses down...

this one time I even had a box full of computer parts that looked like the rear must of been hang just in the way of the sliding door in the truck, and who ever was loading it tried really hard to close the door anyways... think Z shaped box...
Parts were missing, hard drive was ruined, motherboard was bent... not good.
They just took the box and stuffed it in a larger box minus most of the packing materials...

To be fair, it's just not UPS. I've had them all loose a package for me, USPS, Fedex, UPS and Ontrac. USPS delivered one 3 months late, that looked like it had traveled VIA the Trans-Siberian railway :joyous:

Re: UPS Mishap - What can't brown do for you?

I have placed many orders from iBoats with out any problems however I was supposed to receive a package tonight that was never delivered but UPS claims that it was.

I find it frustrating that iBoats Customer service is quite limited when it comes to the hours they are available. No weekend hours, not even for customer service is below par in my book. Now I have to wait until Monday to get a resolution to the matter.

The above is the big problem, in the first two sentences, he complained about iboats service and their hours of service. Which had absolutely nothing to do with UPS.
Even if iboats was around 24/7, it wouldn't have helped, they can't ship after hours or on weekends. So other than the OP needing someone to beach at about a missed deliver that was shipped, what did he expect iboat to do ?????????????

I've had packages get lost by UPS and FED EX that were supposed to show up on a Friday, and there isn't much you can do but wait. I do send an email to the seller I ordered from explaining the situation, and usually get things re-shipped the next business day.

But I never jump on a sellers forum and start crying and whining about their service when they weren't at fault to begin with. I at least wait for the seller and shipper to work things out. The seller usually re-ships the next business day, and normally with free next day delivery.

The OP, in my opinion used very poor judgement in even posting about his problem.

so OP is mad that UPS found a way to put package in garage rather than in plain sight of neighbors, as was complained about earlier?

This doesn't happen often but I agree with Tilliam We 100% in this thread.

No, His SON put the package in the garage, not UPS.

I see. I only noticed garage was open and UPS showed and package wound up in garage.................Either way, I think we've all been there at one time or another......Just chomping at the bit for something to ship and not being able to wait for it............I know I have.

It's easy to get blinders on when you are waiting for something you can't wait to use.

I will say two things about UPS. First I have about 1/2 the packages delivered to the wrong address W. xxxx instead of E xxx, so yes they are less than perfect. When I order and given option I request, and pay for sig reqired. Guess what they get these right.

As far as who is wrong in this? Well guess I was to be home for dinner that was at 6, see you may eat at 7, son could be one who runs a little much.

Feels good doesn't it?! ;)

Thank you Don S for stating you opinion, which is the same as mine as well. And for pointing out the obvious facts, again.

Re: UPS Mishap - What can't brown do for you?

The best UPS story I have was when I found the UPS note on my front door(3 days after they put it there) that they put my package in the trash can so it wasn't in plain sight. I always use my garage door instead of my front and was lucky to see the note before trash day.

Re: UPS Mishap - What can't brown do for you?

UPS has always been good at making it right in the form of $$, but I would of been very cross say my great deal on a downrigger had been damaged or lost
computer parts = no big deal other than it was for a client, and I had a time frame... it ended up making me look bad.

Downrigger = got it, and no damage done, however a est eta would of been awesome, I had to leave town so I had a neighbor pick up my 20lb package :p

That could have turned out bad.

Re: UPS Mishap - What can't brown do for you?

We ordered a time sensitive order from another company, shipped by UPS. It didn't turn up, so we tracked it and it said "Delivered". Not here it wasn't. We had to call the selling company and explain the situation, and they were good enough to overnight ship out a duplicate order and not charge us. A few days later, the original package turned up on our steps. Only thing we can figure is the UPS driver delivered it to our house number on a wrong nearby street and luckily the people were honest about it and dropped it off here.

Now we have the hassle of returning the original order, since we got the replacement order right away.

There's always something that can go wrong.
