I have placed many orders from iBoats with out any problems however I was supposed to receive a package tonight that was never delivered but UPS claims that it was.

I find it frustrating that iBoats Customer service is quite limited when it comes to the hours they are available. No weekend hours, not even for customer service is below par in my book. Now I have to wait until Monday to get a resolution to the matter.

For those of you who have had experience with this issue, how will iBoats handle it? This was one item out of many within the same order that was shipped separately from the mannufacturer.

Many thanks in advance!!

Once iboats hands it to UPS it is Free On Board. Did you get a tracking number? You should contact brown.

Once it has left iboats, it is UPS's responsibility, you will probably need to deal with them. I know when I used to sell a lot over the net, I would see what I could do for the customer, but ultimately it was the shipping companies responsibility for a lost shipment. As Sam said, you do have a tracking number, right?

Brown is supposed to get a signature. Without it the package is still theirs.

Give UPS a call with the tracking number. That is the first place to start. iboats will do all they can for you, but at this point it is a UPS problem and you have to go through them first ...

UPS, only gets a signature these days if the shipper stipulates it, I have not had to sign for a package for quite a while now.

I contacted UPS immediately, 75 minutes after tracking information stated it was delivered. They stated I needed to contact the shipper to have them file a claim to initiate an investigation.

I'm really hoping it was dropped at the wrong house in my neighborhood and that the house is kind enough to bring it to me. My hopes are up until the end of day tomorrow.

Thanks again!

LOL, no kidding!!! Usually they just dump the package at my front door and run back to the truck. I'm lucky to get a courtesy door bell ring lately. They have even left my packages at the neighbors house, and my neighbor's packages at my house......

I have all of my parts type orders delivered to where I work, Someone is always there when brown is delivering. I know that doesn't work for most depending on what you do.

I try to avoid ups at all costs, even using Speedy Delivery if need be.

20 years ago, they left my $2500 computer out in the rain, in a big city. Lucky for me, a neighbor found it before it was destroyed or stolen.

And they left a box with 4 handguns outside on my friends steps. Box was labeled withe Colt logo and addressed to "J.Stevens Custom Guns."

Both packages were signature required.

And last year, UPS called and said they couldn't find my house, which was really funny since they were here twice the week before. Turns out they were over 7 miles away.

More than one UPS/FedEx driver has been rightly terminated for "signing" for packages. Both my UPS and FedEx drivers do love tap knocks and run away. I don't know how many times I've tripped over a package going out the door. Part of the problem with both of them is the so-called efficiency experts have set unrealistic time limits for deliveries. I saw a report around Christmas that FedEx has less than 30 seconds out of the truck and back in ready to go the next stop. 30 secs. isn't much time.

To the OP - I understand you frustration. I'm sure iboats will take care of you.

If it was shipped seperately from the manufacturer and not iBOATS wouldn't there be a different shipping number for you to track?

The local UPS guys around here must scan all their packaged "delivered" when they first leave in the AM. I have tracked my package to see it says it was delivered to my house at 7:30am, and at about 2, I see the truck pull up to deliver it. So, it's possible they will deliver it the next day. But it's also possible that the delivery time you have means nothing.

Yes. I did receive two tracking numbers, one for each package. The package originally had a different delivery date, don't remember but maybe this Tuesday or it might have been this Monday. Maybe this has something to do with it. None the less it's still frustrating, more so this time of year!! I want my boat stuff and I want it now, lol (or at least when they say ill get it)

Re: UPS Mishap - What can't brown do for you?

i read this as i'm waiting on a downrigger I got a great fleebay deal on...

right now it's not giving me a date to expect it, and it's been 3 days since the last update

My ups guy was great; useto leave packages hidden behind garbage cans, but recently he has been leaving items in clear view, even left a big midway usa box standing up leaning on the door (5ft tall lol), most recently an AR upper in the same position with the big BCM + Star logo in clear view

Yup... We have a brick planter by the front door that's big enough to hide most packages. It amazes me when they set the package on top of the planter in clear view of all who pass by, instead of the side where it's hidden...

Re: UPS Mishap - What can't brown do for you?

UPDATE:

Time son gets home from school: 3:00pm
Time I get home from work: 6:00pm
Time UPS claims delivery: 7:15pm

My son came home from school yesterday for a brief moment to get his bike and then off to a friends house to spend the night. While getting his bike out of the garage UPS shows and the package ends up in the garage. I have no need to enter the garage unless for something specific. Usually packages end up in the dining area. I get home as usual and there is no package in sight. So when 8:30pm comes around and still no package I check the tracking and then noticed the package was delivered at 7:15pm. That's when the panicking begin, lol.

UPS has always been accurate as far as status goes in my experience. At times I would receive a package and then check tracking and it would be pretty close to actual delivery time. I hadn't thought to question anyone about the package because of the time UPS claimed delivery

My son should have told me about the package but was off with friends for the night and understandably not worried about my package, lol.
