Hello,

I have twin outboard Yamaha 300hp hdpi's. 10 minutes into my last trip out i noticed the starboard engine was not getting the proper power. Then the overhead alarm went off. I checked the raw water was flowing out of the side exit. The intake was clear. i put the engine out of gear and when i increased the rpms i noticed that water was filling the upper housing compartment. I immediately shut down the engine. and turned around back to the dock on my port engine. What is this symptomatic of?

something to note: the over heat alarm has recently been going off on both engines, only at very low idle. it lasts for about 60 seconds then turns off. water has always come out of the exit and its a mild temp to the touch.

thanks ion advance!

Are you saying that you have not pulled the cowling and looked to see where the water is coming from? But expect us to try to figure it out without being able to look? It is easier to look than have a bunch of people guessing
