Updates on my 67 SC cuddy

I was told it is a 67 Starcraft Cuddy... needs Some love, but already rippin out the carpet, and wood, plan on putting the new floor in tomorrow, yall wanted the pics, so hear ya go.. i got it for 300 Bucks... thought it was a good deal, seems to be!

Hey Dodge welcome to the starcraft club

I love your new boat...it's a real nice old cuddy. You really don't find too many of those around set up for an outboard so consider yourself lucky.

What is the motor? It looks like an early 70s Johnson based on the color of the lower unit.

It sure looks like an 18' Starchief, which was rated for a 120hp OB.

hey, thanks for the info, very interesting, it has a 50 HP evinrude, built in late 75, i found it on craigslist, in the sacramento ca area, and feel lucky to have gotten it after reading what people say about them, seem to be farely rare boats, and easy to work on, and classics!, which is what I like doing, I usualy restore vehicles, but now am enjoying the boat scene

thank you all, im stoked about it! ive always needed a little project boat, and im glad i got this one, seems to be alot of good people on this site willing to give ya as much advice as they can! which is great, because Im new to the boat thing, more familiar with vehicles, this seems way easier so far! lol

for 300 bucks i would have sold a kidney if i didnt have the cash, then used duct tape to attach it to my truck if i didnt have the right size ball, then punch a cop if they tried to stop me from getting home with it.

well. I fired up the 1975 Evinrude 50HP today... started right up 1st try, shut it off right away, hooked up water and the muffs... took a few more tries a fire up, but started up, didnt have any water running out, so gona go get a water pump tomorrow, any links on what ta do?

evinrudes dont have a tell tale like other outboards... at least not stock. im actually going to be adding one to my 74 rude 50 in the next month or so.

I don't have a link to Evinrude but have you tried cleaning out the tell tale (if it has one)? This is something I do on my kicker every spring. I use weed wacker line and run it up the hose. I also have had to take the hose off and clean in the block. Hope this helps.

put some cheap outdoor carpet in it yesterday, added deck lights. "LED" added Head Lights "LED" well there not really head lights. just to see my way around at 2AM. lol, just gota add the red and green light on the front, which I have, just havent installed it yet, then time to adjust the carbs, put some new springs on there, new plugs, should be good to go, just doing quick easy fixes right now just to get it in the water for this season, during the winter i plan on restoring it completly, but as of now, just trying to figure out my waterpump problem... I believe there is a problem, I have posted info on the tech pages of evinrude on Iboats... its a 1975 50 HP Evinrude, 2 stroke, replaced impeller, just doesnt seem to have any water coming out, well there is some, but seems very little, the water coming out, should it be warm since it pumping through the engine? I have yet to check it to see if its warm, but gona try that tonight, engine warms up pretty fast withen a 4 minutes or run time, just affraid to get it to warm till im sure water is pumping out properly,

more pics... work in progress, as of now, I have put in a piece of plywood to cover the floor for support, installed all the lights, got the engine running, did some touch up paint, carpet, alot of cleaning, going through all the wireing and gettin rid of most all the wires that did not belong, and what do you konw, everything still works lol, I am just doing some quick fixes to get it in the water for a test run... and just to get it ready for this summer for some Cat Fishin, once winter comes back, I will park it, and fully restore it propery, I just want to get out on the water, everything works, floor is stable, and probably has a few years left in it, but, ill end up doin it this winter im sure, thats if I still like having a Cuddy, never had one before, all I do is fishin, so im pretty sure I will like it, ill have Updated pics as soon as the weather is nice again, saposed to rain tomorrow and the next day,
