I have ordered new float bowls for a 93 evinrude 115. Everything I have found is the plastic bowl is now discontinued. I received the new updated aluminum bowls and they aren’t as deep as the plastic. The plastic bowls are 7/8 inch deep and the aluminum are 3/4 inch deep. Now the issue I’m having is when I try to install the aluminum bowl with the carb upright, the bowl hits the float and lifts it up before sitting flush against the bottom of the carb. I’m trying to figure out if this is normal or not. The part number for the factory plastic bowl is 398544 and the aluminum bowls that the site says is for my carb is 0437214. can anyone give me some info on these so I can get my boat going again. I appreciate any help.

Faztbullet I hadn’t even taken the old floats off yet. I pulled the old plastic bowls off and saw the difference. So I did a test fit and noticed that the floats are hitting the aluminum bowls before sitting flush with the bottom of the carbs. Should I have to adjust the floats for the new bowls?

You may have to adjust the drop limit on the float? I believe you will find these aluminum bowls require a different style (8X32) mid range jet. The plastic bowls took a 1/4 X 20). Same hole size in jet. You can find jet sizes in front of OMC service manuals.
