Another Update: Went to my family doctor yesterday and got more good news. He was pleased and surprised that I've lost 27 pounds since I saw him in September. Triglycerides went down from 207 to 140 and my A1c went down from 5.8 to 5.3

5.3 is a reading for normal non-diabetics.

I guess I'll credit fish oil capsules and non consumption of alcohol to the decrease in the triglycerides. I've also forsaken biscuits and sausage gravy with fried eggs to nasty tasting oatmeal for most breakfasts.

My goal is to lose another 20 pounds by May.

Sound like you have found the best diet to drop the weight and triglycerides. Keep up the regiment. :thumb:

Stay at it Tyme. I just watched some stuff on blood sugar, weight, diabetes and alzeyhemers ... I still don't like the gym, but I don't like it less than I didn't last week.

I don't belong to a gym but does cutting, splitting, and stacking 14 ricks of firewood count as exercise? While doing that I also moved about 40 concrete blocks to another location.

I'm assuming you're eating Steel Cut oats? I eat the quick 3 minute stuff. Doctoring it up makes it taste a lot better. I started out with adding raisins and worked my way up to trail mix. Variety of nuts(which is the good fat), raisins and yes a few M&Ms. I just through a handful in the bowl each morning. Tastes pretty darn good..... It lowers cholesterol too. It's called Mountain Trail Mix from Wally World... They make other varieties too.....

I eat that ^^^ trail mix all the time, rarely on the trail, and never in oatmeal. Have to try it that way sometime.

Good on you for the weight loss and dropping yohr cholesterol

After the great results at the primary care physician's office I asked the nurse, "Don't I deserve a gold star?" She said I did but she didn't have any in the office. I was crying as Mrs.Tyme led me out of the office as because I didn't get any star. Look what I got in the mail today.

I got equally excellent results from the surgeons office. Everything is healing nicely, all looks good and he doesn't want to see me again until next year.
