I have a 2004 240 Sea ray sundeck and an alarm is going off that is not indicated in the manual. the alarm is 2 beeps with 60 second gap. It is continual while the engine is running. All fluids are normal and the boat runs fine. There is no indication on the smart gauge of something being abnormal. Does anyone know what this alarm is protecting?

I know you checked all the fluid levels but could it be a sensor in one of the fluid reservoirs? Maybe try disconnecting the lead to each reservoir one at a time to see if it causes the alarm to silence

I don't know your boat's setup, but do some of your electronics power up when the engine is started? could be something unrelated o the engine itself. I had an "anchor drag alarm" set once that complained when I moved around.

Re: unknown alarm

Funny timing on this question. Yesterday we launched our boat and had a mystery sound as well. it was a 3 second on/off beeping. Turned out to be a high water, water in the bilge alarm. We had washed the boat before we left home, including the inside. Had about 3' of water in the bilge. Had no idea the boat even had that feature.

So my suggestion is guess what?? Check for water in the bilge!!! LOL!!!

If it's an MPI motor you will need to have the dealer read the codes.

Re: unknown alarm

Found this on a mercruiser forum, apparently the IAC (air control valve) is most common:

Two Alarm beeps every 60 seconds are for:
1.) Faulty cam,
2.) IAC,
3.) MAP,
4.) MAT,
5.) knock sensors.
6.) open/short in the engine cooling temp circuit
7.) open/short in fuel injector wiring circuit,
8.) open/short in oil PSI circuit,
9.) open/short in exhaust manifold cooling temp circuit,
10.) open/short in sea pump circuit,
11.) open/short in throttle position circuit "
