I recently purchased a used 17 ft. rinker OB with a 117 HP Johnson. The prop was bent. Put an undersized prop on to see if the boat would run. Beside the expected vibrating caused by the prop, the boat is leaning heavily towards the right. Any ideas on what may be causing that?

Welcome to iboats!

Unless the replacement prop is also damaged, there shouldn't be any vibration. You may have more than prop problems here.

Prop torque should cause the boat to list to port, not to starboard.

Does it have trim tabs? I had an issue when I got my boat where one was not retracting fully, She leaned WAY over and it was only down 1.25" at the tail.

Layover to the right sux... Most boats lift out of it on plane. Those that don't go chine walkin.. That'll get your attention real quick. If you're by yourself and in the 200lb range that smaller prop may not be giving you enough lift. Get the right prop on it and try it again.

Thanks to all who responded. Since you all centered the problem around the prop and trim tabs, those are the areas i will be addressing, come Spring. This was a huge help.
