Question 1)
Should my 2012 Q5i have come with a plug for both under seat "coolers" ?

Question 2)

How do the navigation lights mount in the ski compartment? My front one was not in its place when I picked up the boat, and looking in the storage area I'm not sure if it goes there or not. I have the longer rear pole taking up three of the 'clips' and the front in the remaining one. Just curious if that's the 'correct' or 'normal' way to do it.

Thanks!

My under seat cooler does not have a plug, it drains into the bilge area so if you plug it it will fill with water. The long light pole doubles up and sliupd into the lower set of clips on the drivers side of the boat, just one poles will fit the clip not both of the folded poles .

Mine came with one plug. It fits in the "live well/ cooler under the small jump seat. It might also fit in the large cooler under the bench seat but not in the two bow seats. The stern light goes in 2 of the clips on top i think and the bow light goes in the other 2.

Ahh this makes sense now... on my the two top ones are close together, and the bottom ones are further apart. I just assumed you wanted both 'halves' in the clips...

I bought a couple of extra plugs for my coolers. I fill them with ice and "pull the plug" at the end of the day.

I like allowing them to drain. I leave bottles of water and green tea in there all the time and all I have to do is fill with ice and it takes care of itself from there. No soggy labels or nasty water if I forget to drain.

I believe the coolers work better if you keep the water around. It seems that my experience so far (didn't know I had a plug) was they are very poor coolers. I have only used the small seat one so far and it went through a large back of ice very quickly. (no plug).

Mine didn't come with plugs, but I bought some for both sides. I use those two areas as my drink coolers, to balance weight out more. The true rear underseat cooler is general storage. I always use the plugs with drinks and ice because it keeps the ice and water in the compartments, where it can cool the drinks, and you won't have water constantly in the bottom of the boat. The drinks stay colder longer as well. When I pull out for the day, I remove any ice that's left over, pull the plugs for the seat compartments, and the water drains out of the main plug in the transom on the ride home.

On my Q7i, I bought 5/8 inch plugs, and then tightened up the compression ring on the plug a bit to make them fit when expanded.
