Very excited about the 60+ degree weather. I got the ski locker emptied out, and the batteries are charging. Going to install the bluesea second battery kit today or tomorrow. My family has been hurting to get on the water again. Still not sure that we won't get one more freeze, but it feels good to get started on getting the boat ready.

im starting to froth at the mouth... its getting warm here (in the 70's today).. I am coating the deck with durabak this weekend, and installing nice new helm and passenger seats in the front of my Q4... de-winterization should be about a month away!

I agree.. I took out the Q3 and started to put the seats and radio back in last week.. Cannot wait for this summer. Does anyone else remove their interior seats, radio and store it in a separate location from you boat?

Re: Uncovered the Q6 today...

We are getting close to getting on the water here. I am looking forward to putting her in the water soon. Maybe next couple of weeks. Water will still be cool for me, but I can get out there and run around at least.

Magicman, I take the bow cushions out and raise the other seats, but leave them in the boat. I do not unscrew them or take the radio out. Why do you, is it a safety thing?

I figured that maybe condensation from the cover would cause the seats to mildew and the electronics to rust. I took pretty much everything and put it in the spare bedroom over the winter. I will have to try your suggestion because moving the entire interior every year is a little unpractical.

I would think that as long as the air can circulate you should not get rust or mildew. I know that some on here have talked about it. I have my boat in a big building though. It is still covered to keep dust and things off, but not covered outside. I have checked on it a couple of time during the winter and everything looked good.

I left my seats in, but left them open so air could circulate. The carpet was a little wet, I'm guessing from condensation. I'm almost done installing the battery switch and isolator, and charger. I had to go out of state for work, so haven't been able to work on it. I just ordered a battery lug crimp tool. Crimping 4 AWG wire is a pain.

I was really afraid of condensation really. But sounds like it would have been alright if I would have let her breathe a little.

Went to the local boat show and got a new water pump n fuel pump rebuild kit(do it every 2 yrs) as they give 10% parts at the show. Will be getting out to dewinterize it in the next few weeks and get it ready for the season.I hope the fuel prices settle down before then otherwise it's going to be even tougher on marine industry.

The higher prices will cause some issues. I will just go out to dinner one less time a week and that should make up for the lake trips that week. Maybe the lake will be less crowded on the weekends. It has never been an issue on the weekdays.

Work helps out with gas for me a bit. I expense a tank for the boat every once in a while. Since I never pay for it in my truck, I don't have much problem paying for it in the boat.

Got a little further today. I got the second battery switch and ACR installed today, plus the on-board charger. Also got her cranked for the first time this year.

Automatic Charging Relay. I've got two separate battery systems, one for the motor, one for sound/lights. The ACR senses when there a charging voltage (motor running) and sends voltage to both batteries, but doesn't let one deplete the other.

More work done today, or parts ordered at least. Ordered a Big Air Pylons' H2O Tower, wakeboard rack, and mirror. Also ordered a Monster Tower ski rack. I went with the H2O because my boat is built for the factory tower, and has the fiberglass built up already. About the only tower I could find to fit it was the H2O. I could have got the factory Tahoe tower, but that's about $1500 more expensive. I should have that in a couple of weeks. They build the tower after you order it.

Re: Uncovered the Q6 today...

Almost have the tower installed. We struggled getting it lined up, and after the help left, I found the trick. I should have it finished today or tomorrow, depending on the rain. Then I've got to get my cover redone to fit around the legs.
