Hi all.<br /><br />I've got a mariner 15hp, 2001, UK supplied, Belgium built that is playing up a little.<br /><br />It starts first pull, it runs very well when cold but as it starts to warm up it goes off the boil. <br /><br />Idle - Perfect, but that is adjustable - in fact it appears to be the only adjustment.<br /><br />Flat-out - Very good, goes well.<br /><br />Anything in between - Not so good. Backfires (especially when reducing throttle but also at other times), miss fires, burns a lot of fuel, can cut out when opening throttle, exhaust stinks of unburnt fuel.<br /><br />I've had the main section of the carb apart (not the primer pump) to check for dirt and leaks and to see how it works. The only mixture adjustment is the idle screw through the front which is screwed out about 1 turn. The engine is in great condition and has seen little use. New plugs made no difference.
