I'm just curious, my Alpha I gen I has worm gear clamps on both ends of the u-joint bellows. I have seen a lot of instructions for drives that have the compression ring on the bell housing side of the bellows, but not much for what I have.
1. When did the change to the compression ring take place? Mine is a 1990 gimbal and bell housing.
2. Any tips or special tools to help with installing the u-joint bellows with worm gear clamps?

Thanks for any insight.

1991 was the change over and is called the Gen II. For the clamps a screwdriver with flex shaft makes getting to the head to tighten the clamps down.

Ayuh,... As Thumper said, the Alpha Gen.II uses the ring,.....

For the screw clamps, I use various swivels, 'n extensions in 1/4" drive,....

Thanks guys, I appreciate the responses. I was wondering if Gen II was the compression ring. Good information.
