i have a 75 hp merc mariner.what type of oil for gas mixture

i have oil tank inside cover in motor.sorry new at this.still learning.i beleive i dont have to mix.do i still use same oil.

Put straight oil in there. While you're at it take a peek at your oil line from your oil tank to the pump, to the carbs and insure that it's solid blue with no bubbles. If bubbles are present you will need to bleed it.<br /><br />Mark

i dont put the tc-w3 in there do i .i sorry new at this got boat for free no manuels.or do i mix fuel in tank.

I think its a 1987 motor runs great i dont want to screw it up.its not oil injected is it.its a 75 merc marnier.thanks for your help.greatly app

Yes, jwf. You put straight TC-W3 oil in the tank.<br /><br />Be sure to check the lines to the carbs as Mark recommends.<br /><br />If it has an oil tank inside the bonnet, it is oil injected.<br /><br />To help your sense of security it will do no harm to run a tank of 50:1 mixed fuel plus the oil injection so you can monitor the oil tank and make sure it is using the oil. <br /><br />If the level in the tank goes down by about the same amount of oil you have used in the premix then the oil injection is working, and properly. Then you can go back to using only the oil injection.<br /><br />Good luck.

Hey JWF - since you dont' have a manual, you can buy an original "owner's manual" (as opposed to shop or repair manual). This is the little book that will tell you basic operation and maintenance, and I think is very handy to have. Places like oldmercs.com (grubb's marine) and mastertechmarine.com have them.

What year is your motor?<br /><br />Fill the oil tank on the starboard side of the engine with TC-W3 two stroke outboard motor oil.
