I removed the twist grip to take it apart for clealing and greasing the throttle links. The linkage is all back together and working smoothly, however, I can't get the grip to fit far enough down on the tiller shaft if I place the compression spring onto the tiller shaft. In other words, I can't align the screw holes to put in the screw that holds the twist grip onto the tiller shaft.Remove the spring and the twist grip slids right down on the tiller rod and the screw holes align so the screw go right in.
Anyone have any suggstions that migth help, I would be very thankfull.

Thanks vic.s, that did it. I was trying to place the spring on the wrong side of the plastic spacer. Like you say; read the manual.
