twin 70 hp evinrudes 1988's

i know the motors are old as hell... LMAO.... I have no acceleration forward past maybe a 1/4 of what it can run... Reverse it works fine.. its just forward it does not go as fast as it should.. any suggestions ?????

1988?? Old?? Not. JohnnyRudes are not old until at least 40 years.

I assume that your complaint includes both engines. In reverse the throttles are restricted. That makes controls the prime suspect. Make sure that your throttle is fully opening the throttle plates on all 6 carburetors.

Make sure all 6 cylinders are making power at low speed.
