its a cat boat so there is probably not a steering rod. most cat boats i have seen use a liquid tie bar... where it is a hydraulic line that connects the steering rams. there is a valve in the middle somewhere that you can open to adjust the motors.
This is correct, based on my own experience with my cat. However, something may well be damaged from the constant pounding and if so, it is going to be expensive.
I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to see the damage if it exists as the workings for the hydraulic steering system are probably in plain view, but not the hoses.
If the damage is not apparent, then try adjusting the proportioning valve, this is located inside the transom between the sponsons in all likely hood.
The valve should be full open (based on my system) and adjusts in one direction (closing) to change pressure to the starboard engine. Small adjustments can have large impacts on the steering characteristics.
However, I think it more likely that the steering ram may be bent/deformed.
