I just rewired my boat trailer. I put all new lights and wires from front to back. Everything works except the turn signals are very dim. Now when I step on the brake they work fine. I have checked all the wires and grounds. I even hooked a ground wire from the battery on the truck to the trailer and the lights on the trailer. Can someone please help me with this problem.

Can you rig up a 12v battery to try just the trailer lights unhooked from the vehicle.

Is it the same way on both sides? (Left and right) Also, do other trailers work fine when hooked to the vehicle? Finally, are these LED or standard bulbs?

Thanks

The turn signals are grounding back through the brake light circuit. That is why they are brighter when brake applied.
I had a similar issue on a tilt trailer.
The part of the trailer that would tilt was a terrible ground to the back of the trailer......so it sounds like another grounding issue.
Being I never used the tilt feature anyway I bolted it together....problem solved..
