Turbo tax

Anybody use it? Seems pretty straight forward. Filing jointly. My accountant is pushing 400$ to do mine. I have nothing out of the ordinary, pretty routine return.

I've used for 10 years or so and three of those included self employment and some real estate transactions. Biggest complaint be all the clicks to get past the upselling ...

We've used Turbo Tax for many years. Never an issue. Pretty simple, but the upselling does get annoying.

I used it for years, but the last several filing cycles it created errors on some pretty basic functions (credit for college tuition paid for our kids and other things) leading to two years of audits and a small fine. Generally, I think TurboTax has become less user-friendly in the last decade and does a poorer job than previously in walking you through all the possible deductions and credits.

Last year I gave up on TurboTax and went with FreeTaxUSA, which worked fine for our simple returns.

My wife used to when she was single. Now that we're married, have kids and bills we use my tax accountant. $90 each year and she keeps records as well in case of an audit.

For me, some things are worth paying for.

Been using Turbo Tax for many years. No issues. Guides me through everything. The last few years I have used the Standard Deduction since my deductions are less than the standard deduction. Probably takes me all of a half hour do complete my taxes using the program.

I have used Turbo Tax for years ... it is easy and straight forward ... I use it for 3 different people. Easy peasy once it is set up. Everything transfers over from year to year. Give me a call or PM if you want more info.

Worked very well for me as it was simple, easy to use and free while I was in the service, especially since I only had to do federal returns. I still use it, it just costs me now, though discounted through USAA.

Nothing new there. You can deduct the fee no matter who does it.

Thanks for the replies, very helpful. Still waiting on a few documents. Then I have to decide which way to go. Turbo tax is looking pretty good.

But many of us the standard deduction is the way we have to go when you don't have deductions.

Used it for years would recommend if you do your own questions prompt you. Since std deduction went up I dont itemize anymore so not much too it

the e filing alone makes it easier.

And that is good if you itemize...otherwise, doesn't matter.
