Tune-up

I have the Seloc Manual for my motor. I was wondering your opinions on if I should do my own tune-up?

I am looking at buying a Compression Tester and a Timing Light Tool on ebay. total cost should be around $40.

Is it realistic to do it on my own ro should I spend the $100+ bucks to have a Service center do it.

I do repairs on my Cars and we actually just fixed the Trim and Tilt on this motor. It was froze up and we tore it apart and cleaned it up. Works great.

With a manual you should be o.k. Plus you have iboats when in need!

OH! if the compression is bad, is it possible to fix or is that toooooo big a job if possible to do?

As long as they are within 10 psi of eachother. It will Idle good. If they are more than 10 PSI like 20 or 40 PSI off then you;ve either got a stuck Piston Ring or the walls are Scored from heat or debris.
I've seen alot of people using deep creep or sea foam in the Cylinders and bring the compression up...9due to stuck rings)
