Re: trying to sell a searay 200 overnighter when do you give in
I know what you are going through....regardless of where you are in the country it sucks trying to sell a toy right now for a reasonable price. It is a buyers market for almost everything. I am in NC, around Ft. Bragg/Pope AFB and the economy here is pretty strong due to all the soldiers and airmen but people still will not pay even NADA. If you don't need to sell it right now, don't do it!! It is an older boat now, so what is a few months going to hurt? People will not pay that much less for a boat that is just one year older when it is already that old. Mine is a '94 but I will gladly wait until spring if that means the chances of me getting around my asking price, increase. I know you want money to put in your new one, but just nickle and dime throughout the winter and get a good price for your old boat. Don't get taken!!! All it takes is for the right person to see the add. It is NOT worth what PEOPLE will pay for it....it is worth what a PERSON will pay for it. Also, advertise it in several classified listings. Craigslist is always a good option but also ebay and any local classifieds. Good luck! Don't settle!!
