I am getting ready to install hydraulic steering in my boat. I'm looking at getting the BayStar Kit which is online for around $650. I have already removed my steering cable but I need to check and confirm a few things before ordering the kit. I am attaching a few photos for reference to some of my questions:

1. ) In reference to the photo of behind the helm where the hole is cut out: The area back there where the steering goes through is about 5"x5". The hole that the helm goes through is about 2.5" in diameter. Now, will that hole have to be altered or can that stay? I know I will need to drill 3 new bolt holes around it but also need to know if I will have an issue. If you look at the photo, there is a lip (or drop off) at the bottom where the two bottom bolt holes are drilled. Any thoughts here is appreciated.

2.) Splash well clearance: (See photo of splash well). The distance from the left and right sides of the tilt tube is about 8-9 inches. Any issues here you think?

3.) See photo of the bracket plate that is rusted. I plan on replacing this rusted piece. This is where the hydraulic steering connects. Aside from the rust, will this connect here or will I most likely need some sort of spacer or adapter?

Thanks!
