Troublesome motor??

I am thinking of buying a 1997 Johnson 4 stroke outboard with fuel injection. I didn't realize they had fuel injection in those years. Is it true fuel injection and does anyone have any thoughts on this motor? Thanks for any input.

I did not think Johnson made 4 cycle OBs in that year. They did make very good 2 cycle motors with good oil injection and multiple carbs.

They made / marketed a 9.9 / 15 HP 4 stoke in 1997 but it was carbureted.-----Post model # or picture.----That will help you.-----Now in 98 they started marketing SUZUKI built models in the 70 HP.----And in 1999 they added the Suzuki built 40 / 50 HP.

Sorry, thought I listed that it's a 70hp. Don't have the model or serial number. I've just been in messaging communication with the seller. I'll see if he can provide the serial and model #. Below is a photo.

See post #5----It would be a Suzuki built 1998 model.----There are 4 fuel injectors on the parts list at $312.00 each.-----Very good motors if you have a boat shop near you to work on this model.----Install a new impeller if you become the owner of it.
