You never checked the lube in the drive ?

3-4 year old drive never should have happened.

After market gear sets alone are 700 for bottom and top, go to ebasic power you will see them.

Ok 4 options, pick your poison.

1-rebuild it yourself.
2-have someone else rebuild it.
3- new sei unit. Probably the best option.
4- used unit top and bottom.

This site stands behind everything they sell. If it were me and my boat i would order from these people, at this site.

And no i don't own it, the site, but theres no one better to do business with.

Sorry i know it sounds brutal, but i'm giving ya the straight dope.

Frank, from Calumet Marine, is going to rebuild it for me for 180 bucks plus parts. I'll get back to you guys after I hear what the fix was. Thanks for all the help. Harp

New update, Frank said if there was a lube problem the gears would be blue, he said it came out "all" at once. Something catastophic happened to empty it that quick. He also said it's around 10,000 grand worth of specialized tools if you bought them all new today,sheeeesh! HARP

It's a 2004 Alpha one connected to a merc 130 H.P. inline 4
After looking on line at outdrives and prices, I'm a little confused, It's a 2.0 gear ratio and I don't see any that match.

Buy an SEI drive in 1.98:1....
