My daughter has a 1997 Dodge Stratus. The odometer is a part of the tachometer cluster. She said that after the car is started, the tach goes to zero and the digital odometer doesn't display. Anybody have any ideas on what may be wrong?

EDIT: Just talked to my daughter. The odometer is in the speedometer cluster not the tach cluster. Also the digital park, neutral, reverse, drive indicators go out as well.

Re: Trouble with Odometer

The buffer behind the cluster has maybe dropped a wire [fell off] or it is shorting across the terminals

Do they work any other time? There is a fuse in the fuse panel labeled "cluster". Make sure it's good.

After starting, they work for a few minutes then go out.
