My 2352 has 2 switches side by side for the macerator pump. (to pump overboard) Both must be activated to pump out.
Why 2 switches?
If I need to replace them are they simply on/off swiches? or is there something more elaborate going on here?

thanks

Re: Trophy Macerator Pump out

There are a lot of regulation regarding macerators. Most of it has to do with pumping the head overboard. In some waters, they have zero discharge and you need a lock on the Y valve. Some waters you can pump 3 miles off shore. With all of these regulations, they wanted to ensure the Captain didn't accidentally pump effluent overboard. The fines would be enormous.

A macerator on the fish box probably wouldn't be held to the same standard.
