Trolling motor solution needed!

Hello everyone, bellow you can see a picture of the boat I bought. It is a 14.5' mirrocraft aluminum. I would like to do quite a bit of fishing with it, as such I would like to put a trolling motor on. I fish from the raised seat in the back, and I definatly want a bow mount trolling motor because the boat is already very stern heavy with 2 batteries and a 35 hp motor, I dont want to add something else to the transom. I understand that I will probably need one with a longer cord or wireless. The only problem is that I can't reach to the bow with the windshield there, so I dont know how I would raise and lower the motor. are there any that go up and down with the push of a button, or does anyone have any ideas? thanks.

I have a MG Wireless, but it would require you to be on the front bow cover to deploy or retract.

I am not aware of any that will auto deploy and retract. If there is one out there it will be expensive. As much as the bow would perform better, I think you will be better off with a transom mount given your boat type.

Ayuh,... That's an awlfully Tiny boat to be adding the tonnage yer adding...

Seems to me, It'll be Overloaded before ya even step into it...

why do you have 2 batteries? Is the 2nd one really needed?

the boat was this way when I bought it. batt 1 wired to the motor. batt 2 wired to the anchor thing, fish finder, and lights. I want to get rid of the anchor thing and use the 2nd batt for the trolling motor.

So batt. 1 is a starting battery. Battery 2 should be in the bow, under the front cover therefore closer to the anchor hoist. This will also have the benefit of balancing the boat more evenly.
That hoist is better left alone unless you plan to replace it with a manual hoist, or plan on never anchor fishing.
Also given the type of boat you have, a stern mount trolling motor is your best (safest) option. It will prevent you from having to crawl over that windshield every time you wish to raise or lower the motor.

There are no electric stow bow-mount motors available that I'm aware of. That is not a fishing boat. Trying to make it one is where the problem lies. A stern mount is your only option.

I've always wondered, how well does that electric anchor winch work? I've looked at them before but never seen one work up close or even talked to someone that's used one.

Put both batt's in the bow.
