Trolling motor propells out of water

Im having issues with my TM propelling out of the water when going forward.

Seems as if it cant push the boat so it pushes itself out of the water.

What could be the issue?

Sounds like the prop is turning in the wrong direction.

I take it this is a bow-mount trolling motor. Check the latch mechanism for debris, a weak spring, etc.

Everything is clean and in working condition.. It would run and sometimes it'll propell out the water. Not sure how the mechanism is suppose to work.

If it is a bow mount there are hooks that latch to hold from doing that. It is released from the black knob at the back of the mount.

It really depends on the type, but I agree that it needs to be latched down and then it will work.
