Trolling motor mounting on Larson Bowrider

Hi Everyone, I've been researching this issue for a few weeks but finally decided I should just post about it. I have a 2004 Larson 180 sei bowrider that I would really like to install a trolling motor on. However, not only is there not a lot of real estate at the bow, but it's curved and curves out to the bumper midpoint (there is probably a name for this that I do not know). I thought maybe I could use the quick release brackets, but then I saw what the problem was. Any trolling motor would have to hang pretty far off over the edge to clear the bumper, so it needs to be mounted past where the boat edge is.

Reading old posts on here and other places, it seems that Glastron may have used to make the mounting hardware for the Larson Fish and Ski boats, as well as for their own similar ones. But I have had no luck finding one of these so far, and it seems that Glastron's new mount design has four even "legs" instead of the different lengths needed to fit on a boat like mine. They don't appear to have a phone number anymore and I haven't heard back from the email form I submitted. I know I cannot possibly be the only one who has or wants to do this, but most of the info is old and the links and pictures expired.

I'm about ready to give up on this idea entirely and/or start looking for another boat, but I'd love to find a way to make this work if I can.

Sorry for the delay, I assume you mean pictures of the bow area? (the bowlight broke off last week but I figure I'll wait to replace it until I know how and if I am installing a trolling motor)

Ive looked into this also, so i am going to follow along. Although mine is a closed bow which opens up a different set of issues.

The only thing I have seen was a platform made of diamond plate to extend it past the bow then a quick release attached to the platform

I"m wondering if a 3/4 or 1" Poly cutting board could function similarly to the diamond plate? (and is cheaper than starboard) My current thought is to make a platform out of the Poly and use rubber/nylon washers to adjust for the curve in places, and then mount the quick release to that.

Cutting boards are not uv protected will not last. Starboard probably your best choice.

Thanks that's likely true, particularly here in the high desert.

Maybe make a test template out of plywood first and do a check fit. If it looks good then you can order the starboard.
Do you have or know which trolling motor you are going to use?
