trolling motor mounting location?

I have a 16ft McKee Craft skiff and want to put a trolling motor on it ,the easiest place to mount is right in front of the side console which would put the motor on the side about 3 ft from the front, would this be a problem in handling or would it be ok? I have a 24v 70 lbs thrust motorguide motor with foot controls-Thanks

Won't be as easy as if you could mount it right on the bow, but it should work okay.

You can put it where it will fit, sort of had that with mine too.

Mine is offset alittle to the starboard side and you get used to it, after a trip or 2 you probably won't even notice.
