trolling motor help

I have a 24/36 volt trolling motor but I have a small boat that has 1 battery so can I make this motor work on 12 volts only?

Are u talking only one batt to do everything for ur boat? u are gonna want two batts for the trollin motor alone.

Sure it will run on 12 volts. But it will run 1/3 speed and have zero power and it will suck a single battery dead in very short order. If a single battery is all you have room for, sell the motor and buy a more appropriate unit.

Thanks for the info. I'am glad u told me that it would suck the battery down I will have to find another motor. THANKS AGAIN!
