I am looking for a trolling motor for saltwater. I was looking at the one from Minnkota, But I also need it to be able to mount on the from of my boat. I have a 1977 Thunderbird Signa 18, it is a tri-hull with an open bow. I have plenty of room to work with but I don't know how to mount it so that it would be out of the way when I don't need it. The boat sees saltwater and freshwater. Yes I do take good care of it when I leave the saltwater environment. Please any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Trolling Motor for Tri-hull

Mount it the same way they do on fishing boats, following the port side of the bow. I had to make an adapter plate to do this on my ol' 73 SeaSwirl trihull, but it worked well and kept the TM out of the way when not in use. Something like this:

If you wan to take the TM off when not in use, just add a quick release bracket (plate).
