Hello All
Bote is 1986 Blue fin Sportsman 1900,
Engine is 2.3L
Outboard is OMC Cobra
Petrol tank is in the bow.
I have been given a 36v trolling motor and along with it 3 deep cycle batteries. I am building a fishing deck up forward over the winter and would like to know where would the best location be, on my specific boat, for the 3 batteries.
Thank you for your time

where ever they fit.

dont add too much weight above the water line or the boat gets tippy. this includes the fishing deck you are planning.

Thank you.
I do plan below or at the waterline. I was just wondering about fore/aft balance.
I can somewhat easily put the 3 batteries near the consoles.

if you are adding bow weight, you may need to move the batteries aft.

however you wont know until you are on the water.

thanks ...
now I have the starting the engine battery and 3 x12 for the 36v trolling motor. Do I need another 12v for the auxiliary loads? Lights, radio, bilge etc... ?

Hey All
Here's what I have going on with the bote...
I have some cables to run from the aft end, they are from some old forklift battery chargers. I think the diameter should suffice for the run...
Please advise as to aft or bow/Center location for the 3 batteries...
Thank you
F

Ridiculous French Accent:
2 years later...
Had the bote moving aling at 30 mph.
For some reason i had to replace the outdrive.
It came with a propeller which has same pitch but is 1.25" larger in diameter.
Was 13" dia. And 17 pitch
Is now 14.25" dia. And 17 pitch
Bote engine will not turn more than 3000 rpm in gear. Max red line with no load.

Your safest bet is to try the batteries in various places with a normal load in your boat. Gotta put them where the best balance will be while in the water..
Sometimes just trying and moving them around will give you the best ideas.

Thank you airshot...

This is deeper than i first thought.
It seems that at some point in the last3 years.. i may have blown my head gasket.
3 impellers were toasted.

It appears as if i have water in my oil.
I am not afraid to remove this engine and start tearing it down... what need i look for?
