Much better, didn't even notice the plug in the other picture, it looked like the protective cap over the main B+ wire. The wiring diagram for that plug is in the link I posted above.
So what I gather from that diagram is that possibly I need to feed the purple instead of the black since it is one or the other and it isn't working properly with the black. Whatcha think?
The purple wire in your engines wiring harness, connects to the black wire on the alternator plug. The red/purple wire from your engines wiring harness goes to the red wire on the alternator plug.
