Hello,<br /><br />I'm relatively new in boating and so I have a little problem wit our trimming systeem of our outboard engine.<br /><br />We have an Evinrude 235 HP of 1983. Everything is ok with our engine and boat, but I think the trimming system is not ok anymore. The problem is that we can trim up and down the engine very well when the boat doesn't move, but when we want to trim during navigating our boat, the engine doesn't come up. When we stop the boat and trim up the engine, it works, but when we start the boat again, the engine falls again down.<br /><br />Can someone help me to find a solution because now we cannot trim our engine very well during navigating...<br /><br />Thanx<br />Wouter

hello<br /> start by making sure the manual release valve is tight. not much else an amuater can do with the hydraulics.

My Tilt/Trim system operates in very much the same manner as yours; however, I've been told that this is working correctly. The T/T system can be operated for as much angle as i want, as long as the engine RPMs are below 1500. Above 1500 RPMs the T/T system lowers because it only allows 15 degrees (max). I dont like it much because i would like the bow raised a little more. Ive been told that if i want more angle i would have to lock it in manually, in effect bypassing the T/T system and losing the ability to use it. I dont like that option much either.

Wouter...have you checked the TNT fluid level in the reservoir? And by the way...welcome to iboats!<br /><br />Kesso....that's the first time I've heard about that.....course....I ain't heard everything yet either....

I don't know what your electric motor and pump assy looks like but there should be a fill screw there that would seem to be a logical fill/level screw hole.
