Ok I finally got my 1990 sundancer up and running after being dormant for the past 5 years…when I parked it the drive operated just fine. Now that I got a new motor in it and hooked up my bravo three outdrive, it will trim down fine but it won’t go up and when I hit the tilt switch it just clicks, where should I look at first?

so the out drive is down then the out drive is not up ? the wiring is a dc motor and the motor switch is up then change the motor change to reverse voltage ... CCW/CW ..on the motor power .

When I stored it years ago all I did was removed the trim rams from the drive so they were stored all the way in the up position. They’ve stayed that way up until now…I hit the new motor installed in her along with the bravo drive…I am able to trim the drive down but it won’t go in the up position…but….there is a clicking noise coming from the rear of the boat when I flip the tilt switch for trailering.. right now tge drive is pretty much all the way down..

It’s clicking when I flip the tilt switch for trailering, when I try to trim it up with the commander there’s nothing.

The click is the relay pulling in, however the contacts are corroded. Spend $3 on a relay

the out drive trim cylinders are down the trim switch is using the voltage to the motor....then the up switch is to the relay and then the relay goes to the motor changes the reverse positive negative . the high current is up on the motor ,,, up on the out drive ...

If you don't have the senders connected that will stop the trim up from working properly.
The trailer up will not be impacted by having the senders disconnected.

Also make sure your connections are good and clean.

As Scot said your relay is clicking and pulling in but contacts are not working, so you have two issues

the up solenoid needs replacement

your trim limit switch needs to be reinstalled and adjusted to cut off trim when the cylinders are a certain length (find it in manual), that is why trim up is not working limit switch thinks its already up…

Ok I think I got both up and down working good now. But for some reason my trim gauge really isn’t reading correctly, when the drive is all the way down it barely moves off of up…could I have some of my wires hooked up backwards on the engine or….

Also it would be great if someone could post the proper procedure for adjusting the shift cable…right now it’s in gear…

Have you tried rotating the trim gauge sender to adjust the gauge reading?

There was a good video be achris on how to do that in the stickies but I can't find it.
edit - After looking through your thread I just saw you have a Bravo. Don't know if the video applies to them.

take out the trim sensor .. inspect it .. probably a contact is corrosion clean it .. then adjust the sensor down then up , out drive up/down ...
some had the hinge pin that was worn pin ..tool was worn/over torqued .. then the pin is a larger diameter ..
then the sensor wire are corroded in around the bellows ..cracked insulation wires ..
